ÉPUISÉ - Die absolute Chronologie in Mitteleuropa : 3000-2000 v. Chr. The absolute Chronology of Central Europe, 3000-2000 BC, Studien zur Archäologie in Ostmitteleuropa, 2001, 338 p., 232 ill., 37 tab., rel. -

The number of absolute-chronological dates for the 3rd millennium B.C. in Central Europe has considerably increased during the past decade. With the amount of dates available now, it has become possible for the first time to clarify questions of the internal chronological order of Globular Amphorae, Corded Ware, Bell Beakers, Early Bronze Age, and certain regional groups in the area between Germany, Ukraine, and Southern Scandinavia. Also the relation between the large-scale phenomena can be lifted from a speculative onto a solid data base of natural scientific dates. In this volume, corresponding data was collected in ten papers and a summary contribution written by the editors, and was illustrated by the accompanying finds and features and consequently interpreted. The different articles (6 in German, 4 in English) were united to form an archaeological compendium that will become a reference handbook for natural scientific dates of the period between 3000 and 2000 B.C..
