ÉPUISÉ - The Circulation of Metal in the Bronze Age, (British Museum Occasional Papers, 102), 1998, 240 p., 120 ill. n.b., br. -

A comprehensive classification of metal compositions in use throughout the Copper and Bronze Ages, made possible by applying lead isotope analysis and integrating it with the evidence of chemical analyses. The sequence of compositions established is interpreted in terms of complex metal histories and specific major inputs, including some from recognised Bronze Age mines. The volume also collates all extant lead isotope measurements for lead and copper ores for Britain and surrounding countries, including many new ones, an indispensable database for interpreting metals exploitation of any period.
