Fire steels, 1996 -
Since the beginning of time, men have gazed at the heavens and wondered at the Prime Cause of the unleashed energy that fiery flashes ignites woods and trees. It is easy to imagine the pride that filled the earliest human beings after they had overcome their fear and succeeded in taming the flame they took from these fires in the wild; with what care they nurtered and fed it. From then onwards, those capable of creating fire knew they possessed a very precious tool. The conquest of energy by easily combustible wood, then flint, pyrites and fire steels, was the firt great victory over the natural world.
